Shop Shop

Once we used to be critical and sharp. Filtering phenomena and distill essentials. Now we pathetically run in circles, meeting the ones we were yesterday and don’t give a damn, as long as a variety of new entries to old dreams is offered. Chop Chop it goes. Busy, busy. Busy little bees. Shop Shop it goes. We add phenomena to our profile without examining them. We replace the real thing with phenomena. Tired of worn out symbols, we get ourselves another religion. The one that mostly relates to the self. Fed up with left, you move to the right. It’s not because left wing has changed a lot ideologically, it’s because you have been planning all along that you would never stick to their ideas forever. It’s the sheduled big leap into another change while you are not really sure what has actually changed. You google “Holocaust” as you start believing those that denied it ever happened. Happy with second hand sources, you’re particulary charmed by the amount of hits that followed your search request and conclude that there might be fire where there is smoke. We are not happy with the one we once called “love of our life”. No big deal. Now’s the time to dump the drag, divide the vynil record collection, pick out the juicy bits when she looks the other way, divide the children. Shopping for another love or even better: a friend with benefits. Disturbing the smokescreen that once kept the family out of the forcefield. Change flavours for the Lattechino at Antonio’s became a bit of a bore. Egalomaniacly breathing the same air as all the others do that run in ovales and finally spiralling down on a lower level where Darwin is considered a blasphemous nutter.
Scientists still wonder why the great Maya civilisation ceased to exist. Well, I guess the angel of decay is now amongst us, and more then ever ready to eat menkinds collective memory from the fluffy borders of time while still dieing from starvation.
